Dear Greater Renton Junior Soccer Association Families,

I am writing to share some exciting news that will come from Greater Renton Football Club (GRFC) this week. GRFC is about to launch their Regional Club League (RCL) Jr. Academy and I want to take this opportunity to explain the program and the benefits it can bring your player.

Under the guidance of US Soccer's player development plan, the new RCL Junior Academy Program allows our RCL clubs to implement developmental best practices to equip our elite soccer players for the demands of the highest levels of the future game.

The RCL Junior Academy Program is designed to:

Enable players to be placed in expanded educational soccer environments at the U7 - U9 age groups created by qualified age‐appropriate coaches and governed by Washington Youth Soccer & US Soccer.

Elevate players between the U7 - U9 age groups with further training and development.

Establish environments for players between U7 - U9 who want an increased level of age appropriate training and education that constantly challenges and takes them to the edges of their abilities.

I encourage you to explore the RCL Jr. Academy Program information that GRFC sends this week to see if it is a fit for your player. This new program is a fantastic opportunity for growing our youth's soccer skills and I hope your family will be a part of it.

Keep moving the ball forward,
Gary White, Technical Director Washington Youth Soccer

2012 Spring Season

GRFC is excited to form U8 & U9 spring league teams as part of the new Junior Academy program in the WYS RCL (Regional Club League, where all the GRFC U10-U18 teams play). This is the most competitive league in the State of Washington. Our new GRFC U8 & U9 teams will be open to any player seeking a higher level of competition and training. Teams will train on Fridays, 5:00 pm at Starfire Complex, starting the 20th of January and continuing in February, March & April. We will have games on the weekends starting in February.

Coaching Staff:
Keith Larson (USSF A License), Sherri Rolfs (USSF B License), Leighton O'Brien (GRFC DOC, USSF A License) &TJ Young (experienced college player)

Who:
All U8 & U9 boys & girls are welcome & invited to participate in our Academy Program (must be born on or after 1 August 2002)

Why:
Young players will have the opportunity to receive professional soccer training from our GRFC coaches. GRFC is committed to developing the highest level soccer players and is excited to bring our coaches to work with the U8 and U9 players. Our goal is to introduce young players to the soccer culture that GRFC provides to its older age groups. We will strive to teach and encourage each individual player to be comfortable and creative on the ball. Players will learn the basic technical skills necessary to be successful in their future years. We want this to be a fun but focused learning environment.
