The Vice President of Administration position will be open for election at the Annual General Meeting in January 2008. The following is the formal job description:
The First Vice-President shall act in the absence of the President with the same power and authority as the President; shall be responsible for and the chairperson of the Discipline Committee; shall be responsible for Association policies and procedures documentation; and shall be responsible for Association communications (including web site) and newsletter publication.
Details include:
- Web master - technical skills helpful but not required
- Newsletter - 1-2 per year; write articles, layout, integrate and format tryout schedules, coordinate publication with mailing service, mass e-mail via Bonzi (our web/scheduling service)
- Master schedule - monthly update, draft annual plan
- Bylaws revisions - when requested, draft update and coordinate approval, publish
- Procedures - support creation/revision and coordinate approval, publish
Skills:
- Writing
- Microsoft Word, Excel, Publisher (for newsletter), PowerPoint (for schedule)
- Web maintenance (with Bonzi user-friendly tools)
Time:
- Monthly board meeting (2-1/2 hours)
- Monthly prep for board meeting and resultant action items (3 hours)
- Newsletter (February about 15 hours, August about 4 hours)
- Other tasks as needed and as time permits
